The Grand Opera House is 1 of major arts venues in the centre of Belfast. This is where you can enjoy world-class entertainment including musicals, opera, ballet, comedy, concerts and pantomime.
The building, a sort of oriental fantasy, was designed by Frank Matcham in 1895. If you take a closer look, you can see a naked bronze Mercury taking flight and Shakespeare looking down approvingly. But, the interior with gold leaves and gilded elephant heads supporting the boxes is a real must-see.
No wonder this theatre is the UK Winner of Barclays/TMA Most Welcoming Theatre Award.
